Credits you’ve earned at other institutes may count toward your degree at DigiPen (Singapore) through either a Credits Exemption or a Transfer of Credits as outlined below.
Credits Exemption
Freshmen who have completed relevant modules during post-secondary education comparable in scope, content, and academic quality to certain modules offered at the Institute may apply for a one-time Credits Exemption. The application period, procedure, and other details will be communicated during the SIT matriculation exercise in June or July. Only complete applications submitted within the application period will be considered. Upon successful application, exempted credits are counted toward fulfillment of graduation requirements but are excluded from Grade Point Average (GPA) calculation. The final decision regarding Credits Exemption remains at the Institute’s discretion.
Requirements
Only polytechnic or relevant modules completed within the last five years will be considered
“Pass” or “P” grades or their equivalent will not be accepted for Credits Exemption consideration
A combination of polytechnic or relevant modules (at least 3 to 4 credits each) may be required to fulfill the credit and syllabus requirements of the undergraduate module(s)
Provide the Registrar’s Office a copy of the official transcript and detailed syllabus(es) of the polytechnic or relevant module(s), which should include the module description, topics, assessment criteria, calendar, credits, contact hours, etc.
Animation, Storyboards, and UX Design Foundation Modules:
- Obtained a minimum “B” grade for the polytechnic or relevant module(s)
- Submission of relevant portfolio for additional assessment
Mathematics Foundation Modules:
- Nanyang Polytechnic’s Diploma-Plus Mathematics Modules
- Ngee Ann Polytechnic’s Certificate in Advanced Computing Mathematics or Certificate in Advanced Engineering Mathematics Modules
- Singapore Polytechnic’s Advanced Mathematics Modules
- Temasek Polytechnic’s University Preparatory Program - Mathematics Modules
- Obtained a minimum “B+” grade for the polytechnic modules
Transfer of Credits
Freshmen who have completed relevant university-level modules comparable in scope, content, and academic quality to certain modules offered at the Institute may apply for a one-time Transfer of Credits. The application period and procedure will be communicated during the SIT matriculation exercise in June or July. Only complete applications submitted within the application period will be considered. Upon successful application, transferred credits are counted toward fulfillment of graduation requirements but are excluded from Grade Point Average (GPA) calculation. The final decision regarding Transfer of Credits remains at the Institute’s discretion.

Freshmen who participated in the DigiPen Foundation Course or NUSH-DigiPen Honors Track at DigiPen Institute of Technology or DigiPen Institute of Technology Singapore may also apply for a one-time Transfer of Credits, subject to the above requirements.
