*Entire Graduate Cohort refers to the total of DigiPen (Singapore) and SIT-DigiPen (Singapore) graduates for the 2023 JAUGES. Source: https://www.moe.gov.sg/-/media/files/post-secondary/ges-2023/web-publication-sit-ges-2023.pdf
In spite of a challenging economic landscape, SIT-DigiPen (Singapore) alumni continue to be highly sought-after, with our most recent graduates commanding a median gross monthly salary[1] of $4,800 and an overall employment rate[2] of 85.6% within six months after graduation. These were the results of the latest 2023 Joint Autonomous University Graduate Employment Survey (JAUGES).
In line with the continued demand for tech talent, graduates of the BS in Computer Science in Real-Time Interactive Simulation (BSCS RTIS) continue to lead in salary outcomes, with the surveyed cohort drawing a median gross monthly salary of $5,000. BSCS RTIS graduates are skilled in C/C++ programming, computer graphics, and software development. This makes them highly sought-after in any industries that require complex simulations and interactive computing, such as finance, engineering, and military sectors.
Graduates from the BS in Computer Science and Game Design (BSCS GD) program reported the biggest salary jumps, with a median gross monthly salary of $4,900 compared to last year’s $4,490. Their overall employment also remained healthy at 88.2%. Graduates of the BSCS GD program have a unique blend of deep software development expertise combined with skills in interactive design. They are fluent in C/C++ programming and UI/UX design principles, making them versatile software engineers and technical designers.
Those from the BEng in Systems Engineering (ElectroMechanical Systems) program enjoyed comparable employment outcomes to last year’s figures, achieving a median gross monthly salary of $4,705 and an overall employment rate of 89.2%. These graduates possess multidisciplinary skills spanning computer, mechanical, electrical, and electronics engineering — thus enabling them to design and manage large, complex systems. Their skills are highly valued in sectors such as robotics and manufacturing, since they can easily navigate and integrate both hardware and software systems.
Graduates from the BA in Game Design (BAGD) and BFA in Digital Art and Animation (BFA) programs enjoyed the largest jump in overall employment rates. Those from BAGD achieved 86.4% overall employment, while the BFA graduates enjoyed 84.0% overall employment. The BAGD program produces graduates who have deep knowledge in various design fields like game and UI/UX design. BAGD graduates are able to quickly iterate design prototypes and ideas, while also being versed in C# programming. The BFA program prepares students for the creative industries by equipping them with strong artistic fundamentals combined with technical proficiencies in scripting languages such as Python. This enables them to not just thrive in professional production settings, but to seamlessly manage and coordinate all manner of workflows, teams, and projects.
As a specialized university for the digital economy, we are heartened by these results and look forward to preparing more graduates to become skilled and innovative creators — and not just users — of technology.
[1] Amongst graduates in full-time permanent employment, i.e. employment of at least 35 hours a week and where the employment is not temporary, including those on contracts of one year or more. Gross monthly salary comprises the basic salary, fixed allowances, over-time pay, commissions and other regular cash payments, before deductions of the employee’s CPF contributions and personal income tax. Employer’s CPF contributions, bonuses, stock options, other lump sum payments, and payments-in-kind are excluded.
