Every year, DigiPen (Singapore) holds the DigiPen Game Awards to celebrate the efforts of our students in their game project classes. This year, students submitted 35 entries into the competition.
In addition, this year also saw the organization of the inaugural DigiPen Animation Awards, which saw over 50 student project submissions. For the DigiPen Animation Awards, Savannah Showdown won the Best 2D Film category, and Polaroid won the Best 3D Solo Project category. The Best Visual Development award, which was open to all genres of animation, was awarded to Daydream.
For the DigiPen Game Awards, Memory Leak nabbed first place for the Claude Comair Grand Prize for Game of the Year category. The first-person runner game also won for Most Innovative Design, Most Engaging Game, Best Physics, Best Audio, and more.
The second and third-place prizes went to Kairos, a 2D top-down puzzle and adventure game with a time-manipulation mechanic, and The Show Must Go On! — a stealth brawler where players take up the role of a stage hand who must try to prevent stage sabotages.
